UPCOMING EVENT – Cops & Rodders Car Show – May 20, 2012

This annual event sponsored by the East Hempfield Police Department is being held at the Hempfield High School in Landisville (Lancaster County) from 12 noon until 4 pm on Sunday, May 20, 2012. The Police Department has partnered with the school to raise funds for a school safety program involving new technology which is perfect for today’s “texters.” The system should be able to provide the school resource officer with valuable information to keep the school as safe as possible.

Last year, which was the 1st year for the car show, there were 220 cars registered and about $10,000 was raised to help support Officer Ringo, a gorgeous German Shepherd. Enzo, the Kline’s Enzyme mascot, will be in attendance of this worthwhile community event – strolling the school grounds entertaining children of all ages! We look forward to seeing you at the car show!

Season Opening Game – Mountville Youth Athletic Association – May 5, 2012

Kline’s Services is, once again this year, a major sponsor of the Mountville Youth Athletic Association (Lancaster County). For the season opener this year, Enzo, The Kline’s Enzyme mascot, was in attendance for the opening game cheering on some of his favorite teams!

Cylo of the Lancaster Barnstormers also made an appearance and challenged Enzo to a pitching contest. Cylo, being a baseball team mascot, was a little overconfident with his pitching skills, and was beaten by that buff and toned Enzo … with pitching speeds of 35 mph to 26 mph!

Fun was had by everyone … and the Mountville (MYAA) baseball teams are off to a great start to the 2012 season!

13th Annual Turkey Hill Country Classic – May 5, 2012

The Classic, which is held at Central Manor Church of God in Washington Boro, four miles west of Millersville in Lancaster County, combines casual and competitive runners, casual and competitive cyclists, and a family festival. This all-day event includes a free food and games area and the infamous MASCOT RACE. This year, there were only 4 contestants in the mascot race – Beau, Turkey Hill cow; Hilda, Turkey Hill turkey; Coco, Hershey Bears mascot; and Enzo, The Kline’s Enzyme mascot. Earth Day Celebration – April 28, 2012

This annual FREE event was again held at Frank Sahd Salvage Center in Columbia, Lancaster County, from 9 am until 1 pm to educate our youth on conservation and recycling efforts being made by local companies. Each child received a passport book that needed 22 of 31 stamp opportunities from answering pre-determined questions by each firm. If the passport was completed, the child received a FREE Rita’s Water Ice certificate. Our very own Enzo, The Kline’s Enzyme mascot, was in attendance entertaining the children of all ages at this educational event. The rain did hold off for the event; however, it was chilly and damp.

See if YOU can answer the question asked by Kline’s Services the day of the event! WHAT ARE THREE WAYS KLINE’S SERVICES REUSES AND RECYCLES WASTEWATER?

1. Producing renewable fertilizers for local farmers. 2. Recycling grease to make heating oil. 3. Producing biogas for electricity generation.

The Green Group Tour at Kline’s Services – April 5, 2012

Lancaster County-based Kline’s Services Inc. is in the midst of a multiyear initiative to transform the grease and other wastes it picks up from clients into energy sources and fertilizers. Members of The Lancaster Chamber of Commerce & Industry recently got a behind-the-scenes look at its East Hempfield Township site.

Like many local businesses, Kline’s Services is seeking to become more eco-friendly and reduce its carbon footprint. To do that, the company initiated a 3-phase renewable energy system project that produces renewable energy while reducing waste and negative environmental impacts. And YOU thought that they only cleaned septic systems!!!!

Watch the video from The Green Group Tour on April 5th, which was sponsored by the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce and Kline’s Services Inc.
