What are the benefits of line jetting?
  • Know how your system works in order to prevent problems.

  • Never pour grease or oil down the drain. Grease will build up in the drain lines and cause clogging problems

  • Keep sink and floor drains clear of products and waste produced in the kitchen or grease producing areas. This can prevent clogging problems and down time which can be costly to your business.
  • Do not remove drain covers, grease trap covers or sink strainers. These items help to prevent solids from entering the tank.

  • Pump your grease trap on a regular basis.

  • Clean your drain lines periodically to eliminate clogging.

  • Always have your tank and drain lines serviced by a licensed professional. As a grease producer, you are ultimately responsible for the removal and disposal of the waste being produced at your facility.

  • Make sure you are on a preventative maintenance schedule with a licensed company. Don't make the mistake of choosing a company based solely on price. You get what you pay for!

  • Train and inform your staff on how the system works and what items they should not put into the system.

  • High pressure jetting and power snakes can be utilized to open clogged drain lines.

  • Periodically inspect the baffles to ensure that they are functioning properly.

  • It is important to make sure the company servicing your business can provide you with a manifest of the job they performed.

  • A grease trap is sized according to volume and the waste being produced at a specific facility. Proper sizing of the trap is essential to the function of the system. If your trap is too small, various problems will occur. If left unmaintained or if the proper size is not installed, you could experience down time, your facility may eventually be shut down, and the investment required to fix the problem could be very costly. A preventative maintenance schedule and proper grease trap sizing are a must!

  • Odor problems are caused by:
    • A gasket or the seal around the lid of the tank that is partially or completely missing.
    • Traps in floor drains that are dried out. Helpful insider hint: Pouring water down a dried out drain will usually correct the problem.
